Turning 65 Is Exciting. Navigating Medicare Doesn't Have to Be Stressful.

We help you understand Medicare Supplement coverage and choose the plan that protects you without overcharging you.

Medicare is complicated. Between Original Medicare Parts A and B, the alphabet of lettered Medigap plans, and the enrollment windows around your 65th birthday, the choices can feel overwhelming. We make it simple.

At Gold Coast Financial Group, Medicare Supplement planning is one of our specialties. We work with multiple carriers and know how to compare Medigap plans side by side — so you are not just picking a name, you are picking the right coverage for your health needs and your budget.

We serve clients who are newly turning 65 as well as those already on a supplement and wondering if they are on the right plan. A 30-minute conversation can save you hundreds of dollars a year — and give you confidence that you are truly covered.

Common questions

Medicare supplements, answered simply

What is the difference between Plan G and Plan N?

Both are Medigap plans with standardized benefits. Plan G generally covers more out-of-pocket costs but has a higher premium; Plan N trades small copays and possible excess charges for a lower premium. Which one makes sense depends on your health, budget, and how often you see doctors — we walk through the real numbers with you.

I'm turning 65 — when do I need to enroll?

Your Initial Enrollment Period runs seven months: the three months before your 65th birthday month, your birthday month, and the three months after. Missing windows can mean late penalties, so it pays to start the conversation early. Enrollment in a plan may otherwise be limited to certain times of the year unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

Do I need a Medicare Supplement at all?

Not always — it depends on your health, your budget, and how you prefer to manage costs. Original Medicare leaves real gaps: deductibles, and 20% coinsurance with no yearly out-of-pocket cap. A supplement is designed to fill those gaps and make costs predictable. We'll walk through your situation honestly — and if a supplement isn't the right fit for you, we'll say so. For information on all of your Medicare options, you can always contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE.

How do you get paid?

Consultations are free. If you enroll in a plan through us, the insurance carrier pays us a commission — you never pay us a fee, and your premium is the same whether you use an agent or not.

Does using an agent cost me more?

No. Premiums are filed with regulators and are the same with or without an agent. The difference is that you get a licensed professional comparing options and advocating for you every year.
